Terms, Booking and Cancellation Policy

These terms apply to assessments, individual tuition, group tuition and course packages supplied by Worth English Studio.

Where a learner is introduced through an advertising, marketing or referral service, that service is acting only as an introducer unless explicitly stated otherwise. The contract for tuition is between the client and Worth English Studio.
Services
Worth English Studio provides online English-language teaching, examination preparation, professional English tuition, initial assessments and related educational services.
The content, timetable, duration, number of teaching hours and fee for a service will be stated on the website, payment page, rate card, email or other written booking confirmation.
Tuition may include individual lessons, group lessons, fixed-duration courses or prepaid blocks of teaching hours.
Assessments
An initial assessment may be required before an appropriate programme of tuition can be recommended.
The assessment fee is payable in advance. Unless otherwise agreed, the assessment may include discussion of the learner’s objectives, evaluation of current English ability and recommendations for future study.
Payment for an assessment does not oblige the learner to purchase further tuition.
Fees and payment
Fees must be paid in advance unless a written instalment arrangement has been agreed.
Payments are made in pounds sterling through the payment method provided. Prices shown in dollars, dirhams, riyals or other currencies are indicative estimates only. The learner’s bank or card provider determines the actual exchange rate and may charge additional fees.
A booking is confirmed only when the required payment has been received and Worth English Studio has confirmed the booking in writing.
Individual lessons
Individual lessons are arranged at mutually agreed times.
A learner may request to rearrange an individual lesson by giving at least 24 hours’ notice. Rearrangement is subject to tutor availability.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or the learner does not attend, the lesson will normally be charged in full and will count as used.
If a learner arrives late, the lesson will normally finish at the original scheduled time.
Prepaid lesson blocks
The price, number of hours, timetable and period of validity of a prepaid block will be confirmed before purchase.
Prepaid blocks:
must be paid for in advance unless an instalment plan has been agreed in writing;
are intended for the named learner and may not be transferred without written agreement;
must be used within the period stated when the block is purchased; and
remain subject to the 24-hour cancellation rule for each scheduled lesson.
For an individual-tuition block, if the learner ends the arrangement after the statutory cancellation period, any refund for unused hours will be calculated after lessons already received have been charged at the applicable standard individual hourly rate.
Any agreed instalment plan divides the payment of the course fee; it does not convert the course into a series of unrelated individual purchases.
Group courses
Places on group courses are limited and are reserved for the named learner.
The course timetable, duration, total teaching hours and fee will be confirmed before payment. Learners are responsible for attending the scheduled sessions.
After a group course has begun, no refund or replacement lesson will normally be provided for a session missed by an individual learner. Where practicable, supporting materials may be provided, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If Worth English Studio cancels an entire group course, learners will be offered an appropriate alternative or a refund of the fees paid for teaching not provided.
Cancellation rights for online purchases
A consumer who purchases a service online or at a distance will normally have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of the date on which it is made.
If the learner asks for an assessment, lesson or course to begin during that 14-day period, the learner expressly requests early performance of the service.
If the service has begun and the learner then exercises the statutory right to cancel, Worth English Studio may charge a proportionate amount for services already supplied.
Once a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period, the statutory right to cancel may be lost where the learner expressly requested early performance and acknowledged that consequence.
To exercise the right to cancel, the learner should send a clear statement by email or use the model cancellation form at the end of this policy.
Nothing in these terms affects the learner’s statutory consumer rights.
Cancellation by Worth English Studio
If Worth English Studio must cancel an individual lesson, the learner will be offered a rearranged lesson or a refund or credit for the lesson cancelled.
Worth English Studio will not be responsible for additional losses arising from events genuinely beyond its reasonable control, but will take reasonable steps to rearrange affected teaching.
Online lessons and technology
Learners are responsible for having a suitable device, reliable internet connection and access to the agreed online teaching platform.
If a significant technical failure on the tutor’s side prevents a lesson from taking place, the lesson will be rearranged or credited.
Technical problems on the learner’s side do not automatically entitle the learner to a refund, although reasonable efforts will be made to continue or rearrange the lesson where possible.
Learner responsibilities
Learners are expected to:
attend punctually;
participate respectfully;
complete agreed preparation where appropriate;
provide accurate information about their examination, level and objectives; and
avoid recording or distributing lessons without prior permission.
For learners under 18, bookings and contractual decisions must be made by a parent or legal guardian. A responsible adult must provide the relevant contact information and remain responsible for payment.
Examination results
Worth English Studio provides experienced teaching, feedback and examination preparation but cannot guarantee a particular examination grade, score, university offer, professional registration or employment outcome.
Results depend on factors including the learner’s starting level, attendance, independent study, examination performance and the decisions of external organisations.
Teaching materials and copyright
Unless otherwise stated, teaching materials supplied by Worth English Studio are for the personal educational use of the named learner.
Materials, recordings and resources may not be copied, published, sold, uploaded, shared with others or used to train an artificial-intelligence system without written permission.
Respectful conduct
Worth English Studio may suspend or end tuition where there is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or persistently disruptive behaviour.
Where services are ended for serious misconduct, any refund will be considered in light of the services already supplied, costs incurred and applicable consumer law.
Liability
Worth English Studio will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights protected by consumer law.
Complaints
Concerns should first be raised by email so that they can be investigated and addressed promptly.
Worth English Studio will aim to acknowledge a complaint within five working days and provide a substantive response as soon as reasonably practicable.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Worth English Studio Privacy Notice, available through the website footer.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when services, prices or legal requirements change. The terms supplied or available when a booking is made will apply to that booking unless a change is agreed with the client.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A consumer retains any mandatory protections provided by the law applicable where they live.
